San Francisco, Calif., October 7, 2002 - Embarcadero Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:
EMBT), a leading provider of application and database lifecycle management
solutions, today announced the latest versions of DBArtisan® and Embarcadero™ SQL
Debugger, for building, managing and troubleshooting enterprise database infrastructures.
DBArtisan 7.0 includes support enhancements for the major database platforms,
with particular focus on IBM® DB2 Universal Database (UDB) and Oracle®,
solidifying its position as the most complete cross-platform solution for maintaining
enterprise databases. With the addition of Embarcadero SQL Debugger for IBM
UDB, database administrators (DBAs) and developers can now diagnose and fix
problematic server-side code and ad-hoc SQL across all major DBMS platforms.
Embarcadero Technologies’ more than 30 enhancements to DBArtisan 7.0
allow for the administration of more complex database environments by delivering
the most up-to-date support for the current releases of Oracle, IBM DB2,
Microsoft® SQL Server and Sybase®. DBArtisan 7.0 also includes innovative,
user-friendly features that simplify management of multi-platform database
infrastructures. By providing a single point of entry for all major DBMS
platforms, DBArtisan 7.0 in combination with Embarcadero SQL Debugger, significantly
reduces the time and costs of managing multiple databases and boosts productivity
by allowing users to standardize on a single solution.
The cross-platform functionality of DBArtisan is key for efficient
database administration,” said Jon Baker, database consultant with
Netwave Corporation. “With DBArtisan, we can have DBAs trained in Microsoft
SQL Server manage the day-to-day operations of our Oracle databases as well,
dramatically increasing the efficiency of the department without sacrificing
performance.”
DBArtisan 7.0 provides the centerpiece for a completely integrated
database product suite,” said Rob Young, director of Administration
Tools. “The new features in DBArtisan and our SQL Debugger reinforce
Embarcadero Technologies’ commitment to complete cross-platform functionality.
This latest release also incorporates several new capabilities that our customers
have specifically requested to make their jobs easier, regardless of how
many database platforms they manage.”
